Kari Furre   Susie David  Nicky Thompson

Kari Furre’s exquisite cured fish skin objects; Susie David’s lyrical paintings;  Nicky Thompson’s timeless wet collodion images. Three artists show their work inspired by water, at Green Hill Arts, Moretonhampstead.

Kari a swimmer, maker and lover of process, writes about ‘tuning into the pulse of the sea, everything, myself included, in motion, in flux, a gestural world’.  Susie David’s work chimes with this; hers too is a collaborative and gestural process, she is led, she says, ‘by fluid phenomena such as: sea, river, rain, a glass of water’, her paintings informed, and (at times) formed, by water's fluid dynamics. Whilst Nicky Thompson’s ambrotypes hold a deceptive stillness,  there is a tidal pull in the work, linking distance with intimacy, river swimming with nature, the slow process of noticing and being outdoors, with mental health.

Sensitive thought provoking work from this gem of a gallery, situated on the edge of Dartmoor. Don’t miss it.
