In 2016 the Woodland Trust and National Trust received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help restore the ancient woodland at Fingle.
As the work proceeds we are learning more and more about the historical significance of this important landscape.
This multi-media exhibition reflects some of the pioneering changes in woodland management enacted here over the last century. It tells the story of the people who worked and lived here and the way they won a living on the dramatic steep slopes of the Teign Valley on the northern edge of Dartmoor.
It will also showcase the achievements and challenges of the current restoration and how this too is literally unearthing history on our doorsteps.
