In her illustrated talk Sarah Bennett will narrate how she uses both archives and architecture, relating to the history of Victorian psychiatry, as the starting point for her artistic practice.
She will discuss the development of the work involving site visits, as well as the ethical implications of working with sensitive personal documents.
The artwork she produces explores ourrelationships with institutional space and memory, and is intended to have an 'affective charge'.
The talk will take place upstairs at Green Hill Arts and the ticket will include a glass of wine or a soft drink.
