Even In The Dark – A Solo Exhibition by Rose-Marie Caldecott
Running from 1st May to 31st May 2025, this exhibition invites visitors to experience Rose-Marie’s exploration of grief, loss, and the difficult, transformative process of moving through darkness.
Since moving to Devon in 2020, Caldecott has used painting as a way to navigate the emotional landscape of grief. Through her innovative use of oil paints—carving through layers of dark pigment to reveal pinpricks of light—she captures the tension between sorrow and hope, and the delicate balance between life and death.
The gallery will feature subtly shifting lighting, transforming the atmosphere as you move through the space, offering new perspectives of each painting. Visitors can also experience the artwork accompanied by specially composed music, enhancing their connection to the perspectives within the pieces and to the artist herself.
Entry is free. Green Hill Arts gallery is open 10:00am – 4:00pm daily, Wednesday through Saturday. The gallery is located at the top of Fore Street, Moretonhampstead, near the Parish Church. Parking is available in the Court Street and Station Road car parks.
